Applied
Research Lab

The Be-lab aims to emphasize action research practices and methods, and provide a multi-dimensional space within the school at the intersection of applied research, experimental fab-lab, and case study storytelling.

In the lab, young designers carry out interdisciplinary research through design and in a supported educational framework (“learn by doing”), which is intended to always be contextual, applied, and qualitative. We create pilot projects and creative strategies in sustainable and regenerative innovation for the territories of tomorrow in response to major challenges of ecological transitions.

Studio projects

Our applied research lab is structured around tailor-made studio projects, focused on regenerative design and sustainable innovation. Such syllabus provides place-based, collaborative research opportunities, exploring participatory design and qualitative research methods. Output will include user-tested low-fi prototypes and POC (Proof of Concept) made in the fab-lab.

The lab also features an observatory, a dynamic, accessible, illustrated archive of case studies, describing lessons learned, tips, outcomes and impact strategies. Select partnership and diploma projects presentations add to this storytelling bank. One-on-one presentations are organized on demand to discover such dynamic learnings.
