Experimental Makers Space
The Experimental Makers Space at The BeLab is a hybrid workshop and research environment where material exploration meets design prototyping. It brings together the capabilities of a traditional makerspace—equipped for fabrication, model-making, and hands-on experimentation—with the innovative ethos of a sustainable materials lab. Here, students, designers, and researchers engage in developing bio-based and recycled materials, upcycling local waste, and designing custom processes and tools. The space supports both rapid prototyping and deep material inquiry, encouraging iterative thinking, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and real-world application. Grounded in a regenerative approach, sustainability, and open experimentation, the Experimental Makers Space enables the creation of resilient, future-facing solutions that respond to both local and global challenges.
